"What an odd thing it is to see and entire species -billions of people- playing with, listening to, meaningless tonal patterns, occupied and preoccupied for much of their time by what they call "music"... "We listen to music with our muscles" Nietzsche wrote. -Oliver Sacks "Musicophilia"
Here I go starting with 17 hours of airplanes to go back to my home town, and start my research about Musica de "carrilera", Musica "Guasca" music of the railroads, music of the country people. I really don't know what I am going to find, but i am exited to finally had decided to jump into this!
Music and musicians had been a constant question since I remember; my dad was always a great music listener, filling the house with tones that went from Sergei Prokofiev "Peter and the wolf" passing through Violeta Parra, Mercedes Sosa, Pink Floyd The Beatles and a collection of film soundtracks all in Vinyls and Cassette tapes. Later on in life I was surrounded by friends that were constantly playing music, and then a long relationship with a great musician from who I learned a bit the fascinating language of this art form!
Let's start this adventure!!
Love
