The past September 23rd In The Red was screened at The Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, it has been one the most beautiful moments in my career!, People cried people laughed, a lot of my friends were there, people form the Bakery, from Capoeira, from Mission Local, The firefighters were there, Stubbs, Dex and Justin, the young kids Mimi Chakarova followed for 2 years were there with their families, EMS Corps was there, even the mayor of Oakland was there! we had a full house and collected about $7000 for the program! I feel very very happy with the first full length documentary I have edited and one of the most moving, inspiring experiences I have had!
I can not give enough thanks to Mimi for introducing me into this project and believe I could do it :)
The best for Mimi, For Wellington and Sean, and for the incredible inspiring people that is making changes in this society, that believe in a better world! So much love for the people in Oakland.
Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change. -Malcolm X-
